WWW Wednesday (11/09/19)

This meme was formerly hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm and revived here on Taking on a World of Words. Just answer the three questions below and leave a link to your post in the comments on the original blog for others to look at.

But first … a quick life update …

I got a job! It’s a job I wanted! It was worth the risky move out of London! I start on Monday!

I am very excited (understatement) and am now waiting anxiously for my contract to arrive.

That’s my excuse for why I’m currently a review and a wrap-up post behind on here, but with a few days left before I’m back to work, I’m sure I’ll catch up quickly – now’s the time to get things in order!

Anyway, on with the questions!

The Three Ws are:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?

I’ve just started the Ten Thousand Doors of January. So far so good, but only a little way into it. I’m in a bit of a post-interview fug, not to mention that my last read was … mediocre …

What did you recently finish reading?

I finished reading Rewrite the Stars yesterday. It was all the saccharine things that I hate about romance novels and (spoiler alert) I won’t be rating it highly.

What do you think you’ll read next?

I’ve got so many things to read, and all I seem to be reading at the moment are ARCs (fine, I do keep requesting them, but who’s really to blame here?). Looking at the publication dates, my top priorities next are The Particular Charm of Miss Jane Austen, Before the Coffee Gets Cold, and The Bone Ships. What can I say, I like eclectic reading styles …

What are you reading this week?

  1. Congrats on the new job! That’s so exciting. 😀 Especially since it’s one you wanted.
Clearly, the ARCs are at fault here. Because somehow I keep finding more and more on my TBRs, too? Obviously, they’re to blame. They must be ninja sneaking in there somehow, right? 😉 I’ll be reading The Bone Ships hopefully this coming week, too. 🙂
    Here’s my WWW post.

    1. I think the ARCs are reproducing when our backs our turned. Unfortunately, throwing cold water on them just creates a completely different kind of problem!

  2. Congratulations on the job!!

I’ve seen a lot of good things about Bone Ships, but I’m so swamped I decided to pass on the ARC and get to this later. I also still haven’t read Barker’s other trilogy, which is currently sitting on my Kindle. Might as well tackle that first!

    1. I’m getting a bit over-excited about jumping on board new trilogies/series that are supposed to be good, so that I don’t miss out by the time Book 2 comes out, and then I’m scrabbling to catch up with Book 1!
